Kids are Asked to Help Santa Claus in Online Holiday Game
PITTSBURGH, PA., DECEMBER 14, 2009- Santa Claus needs some help this Christmas, and children of all ages are invited to be a hero in Santa’s Magic Clock, an online child-friendly game for the holidays.
Santa’s Magic Clock is based on the original story of Santa Claus. “It is said that Kris Kringle received three gifts to help him make his journey, a sleigh that can fly when pulled by reindeer, a sack that is always full, and a magic clock that can stop time,” said Christopher Whitlatch, Manager of Marketing and Communications at The Pittsburgh Foundation and Co-Creator of Santa’s Magic Clock.
Christopher along with Mark Bursic, President of Political Technology, created the game in 2007 as a gift to friends and family for the holidays. Participants search for pieces of the Magic Clock throughout the Internet on child-safe websites in order to make it work for Santa’s journey on Christmas Eve.
In the 2009 edition: The Great Reindeer Mixup, the clock spins backwards, erasing Christmas from time. Santa’s reindeer forget they can fly and all take day jobs, such as radio host, reporter, cartoonist and more. In order to save Christmas this year, each reindeer must be found and returned to the North Pole and the clock wound forward again.
Santa’s Magic Clock begins on December 16 and will be available to play throughout the holidays at http://www.santasmagicclock.com. The game is solved by finding the reindeer where they are hiding, starting with Dasher. After each reindeer is found, a page will be unlocked to help find the next one. Upon successful return of all eight reindeer, children can receive a special email from Santa Claus thanking them for their help.
